New Haven and Bentley Advance in NCAA Division II East Regional



FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Oakdale, N.Y. - The University of New Haven and the Bentley University volleyball teams both advanced to the NCAA Division II East Region semifinals after coming up with quarterfinal victories Friday at Dowling College.

New Haven defeated conference foe Pace Unviersity, 3-0, in the earlier session, while later in the eveing Bentley came through with a five-set win over Adelphi University. The victory was the first for the Falcons this year versus the Panthers as Bentley its regular season match and then fell short again in the Northeast-10 semifinals to Adelphi before tonight's win. All three matches went the full five-sets.

In other quarterfinal action, UMass Lowell dropped its match to the University of Bridgeport, while Dowling College made quick work of Georgian Court University, 3-0, in the late match of the evening.

Play continues tomorrow evening as #2 New Haven will face former East Coast Conference rival, third-seeded Bridgeport at 5 p.m., while #5 Bentley takes on top-seeded Dowling at 7 p.m.
